We came, we saw, we conquered.

Real Madrid have defeated Barcelona yet again, it seems like the beginning of a new dawn and this is the sunny side for Real Madrid. Till around Barcelona didn't know what struck them. Amazing game play by the squad and a superb show by Marcelo, showing that he showed be given a place in the starting 11 and not be substituted. Goals from Ronaldo and Higuain in the 19th and 10th min. led to the well deserved 2-1 for victory for Los Balncos.
Barcelona only did one thing in the game and that was possession, that to not as their usual self. The Catalans were down to ten men in the 27th minute when Adriano made a last man foul against Ronaldo. Barcelona did recover with a Messi free kick (didn't know he could do that), to keep the game alive. The second half was comparitively boring were both teams seemed to be getting a bit complacent but Barcelona were looking desperate. The last ten minutes were the high point of the match wherein Alex Song and Modric, both the new signings came in. Both showed potential and added some flair to the game.
All in all it was a superb show by Ronaldo and Co. Mourinhio had earlier said that winning the Spanish cup was not that important to him but it will be a great motivational boost for the players, starting very badly. It felt like Real were back in the game doing what they are best at, winning.
All in all a superb win for the team.

DID YOU KNOW!!!!

  • Real Madrid have failed to win their last three matches in all competitions, which is their longest win-less streak since May 2011.
  • Defeat at Getafe condemned Los Blancos to their worst start to a season since 1973.
  • The Castilian giants have failed to register a home win against Barcelona in their last seven attempts across all competitions.
  • Madrid's last victory over their arch-rivals at the Bernabeu was a 4-1 success in La Liga in May 2008.

  • Barcelona are facing Real Madrid for the 221st time in official competitions. Both clubs have 87 wins to their name.
  • If the Catalan side win on Wednesday, they will be leading the head-to-head series for the first time in 80 years.
  • Lionel Messi has registered five times in his last three games for Barca, making this his best ever start to a season.
  • The Argentine forward is the last player to score a hat-trick in a Clasico, which he did in the 3-3 draw at Camp Nou in March 2007.

It is a Must Win situation!!!!

Los Blancos will be looking to register their first win this season with a disgraceful loss to Getafe this weekend. There are high hopes from the team with Luka Modric coming in, although he might be late for the match tonight. The team has gotten far too long without a good defence, Raul Albiol and Arbeloa are simply not up to the mark. Maybe the return of Pepe would set things straight.

Real Madrid will have no injury problems as centre back Pepe has recovered from concussion and will look to replace Raul Albiol. Play maker Luka Modric might be played in in the second half of the game, if Real don't seem to have things in control. Lets have a look at what the mangers had to say about the match.

The players don't seem to be playing their 100 percent when at games like this you need more. A nice midfield with no remembrance of the past 3 games would really help it woud be nice if the players start afresh. The Madrid side does have the ability to crush Barcelona and the also have the players with the skill to do it, it's all about the mind.

Jose Mourinho: "For me the only problem is if the difference in performance between the first two games and the last match remains, that's the only problem. Win the Super Cup, not win the Super Cup. Beat Barca, not beat Barca. None of that is important to me right now. My priority right now is to know whether the attitude we had against Getafe was a chance happening or whether it's a situation that has had consequences on the psychological profile of some players. That for me is the fundamental thing for tomorrow."

Tito Vilanova: If we had not won in two or three games and we were playing at home, we would try to change the dynamic as quickly as possible. But in themselves Madrid are already dangerous with the number of players they have, and in the Bernabeu. It is impossible to think about going to Madrid and having an easy game. They are very good. You just have to look at what they did last year,"

Azulones Upset Los Blancos with 2-1 Victory

Real Madrid's first, best chance of the opening half came in the 16th minute when Mesut Ozil nearly gave Madrid an early lead. After several clever short passes that picked apart the Getafe defense, Ozil looked to be set-up perfectly to finish the play, but his shot went up a bit too quickly and it bounced back off the crossbar. Madrid contined to dominate the game and hammer the Getafe goal, before getting on the board in the 26th minute. Gonzalo Higuain made a great run in through the box, fighting off two defenders and getting behind goalkeeper Miguel Moya before putting the ball in the back of the net.

Getafe equalized in the 52nd minute on a set piece. While one Getafe player began the play in an offside position, he didn't affect the play and the AR ignored him, allowing Valera to get on the end of the cross and head it past Iker Casillas. Needless to day, Jose Mourinhowas not impressed. He was significantly less impressed in the 75th minute when his defense was burned on a long ball that allowed Adrián Colunga to start a breakaway. The lone defender back on the play closed him down, but a perfectly time pass to a trailing Abdel Barrada doomed Madrid as Barrada beat Casillas with a low shot to give Getafe the improbable lead.

Real Madrid out-shot Getafe, 14-11, and controlled the ball for almost 70 percent of the time, but as is often the story in football, it wasn't enough. To top it off, Fabio Coentrao was given a red card in the 92nd minute. He was on the bench at the time, but apparently said something the referee didn't really enjoy. It was an odd finish to what continues to be a very odd month by Real Madrid's standards

Despite late pressure and attacks, Madrid simply couldn't break through and continued their slow start to the La Liga season with more dropped points.

This is Just The Beginning!!!!!

With a 2-3 loss to Barcelona, Real have a deficit of one but also an advantage of 2 away goals which is a big advantage. Since it is the Real Madrid home ground next week, Real Madrid will also hold the advantage of fan support. A very nice and aggressive game all in all.

The match was 0-0 tie till half time, but things were about to get exciting in the 2nd half with a goal coming from a Mesut Ozil corner kick just 9 minutes in the game, Ronlado didn't miss the moment and headed home the opening goal of the thriller. Barcelona leveled within a minute with a nice pass from Mascherano to Pedro on the far left side for the equaliser. Things looked week for the Real Madrid defence due to the absence of Pepe. The Spain forward's first touch was magnificent and he fired past Casillas, though replays suggested he had started in an offside position. The game opened up and Sergio Ramos brought down Iniesta for penalty, and Messi netted from the spot. Iniesta dribbled past three players and threaded a ball through for Xavi to score and soon after Casillas denied Messi a fourth for the hosts. Substitute Di Maria chased down Valdes at the end as he controlled the ball in the area, and stole it off him to grab a lifeline for Mourinho's men.

El Clasico!!!!!

The last meeting between the Spanish super giants in a league match at Camp Nou was also won by Real Madrid with goals from Ronaldo and Khedira. The only goal from the Barcelona camp came from Alexis Sanchez. This Match was decisive for Real Madrid to win the league title after 4 years.

These matches have shown the calibre of coach José Mourinho and shown that yes he is indeed the special one. He has disciplined the team to play a patient yet attacking game, using each player's individual skill in the right manner to bring out a team of champions. The team chemistry is excellent and the team up to its name and history. Big names like Ronaldo and Özil have lived up to their billing, performing at important matches.

This would be an away match and the Royal Whites will be looking for a minimum of a draw so as to have the upper hand in the 2nd leg at the Bernabéu. This would also be a big challenge for new Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova as this would be only his second official match as the Barcelona coach and it is a big task to face a wall like Real Madrid.

Barcelona has had a recent signing in Alex Song. Coming from Arsenal as a star player of last season. Jordi Alba also played his first official match against Real Sociadad and showed that he could fit in the Barcelona way of things.

The Ronaldo-Messi rivalry would be a good watch, although both of them are players of a very high cadre and will look to oust the opposition with their skills.
We hope that Los Blancos have a lead and a good game of football this Thursday. The team has shown( now twice) that they have what it takes to rattle Barcelona and a repeat of that would be fabulous. Also we wish Pepe a speedy recovery.

A Sad Start.

1-1

Real Madrid had a weak start this weekend, a tough match to start with Valencia. The team made a lot of attempts, several coming from Gonzalo Higuain and Ozil. Ronaldo was a shadow of his true power, he failed to produce any clear chances.

The Valencia defense was very strong, allowed very little opportunities. Madrid controlled quite a lot of the ball and played a very different patient game. But even the possession failed to help them find the net. The only goal for the whites game came in 10 mins by Gonzalo Higuain. The Real side had almost lacked the flair to score in the end with the only good scoring opportunity in the second half coming from a header by Gonzalo Higuain, which bounced of the post.

A new signing for Valencia was João Pereira who transferred from sporting Lisbon this summer, the Portuguese national played a good game and would be anew face to watch out for.Valencia who came 3rd last year stopped Madrid from taking three points again, last year also the season ended with a 0-0 draw against them.

The problem lies in the 2 point lead which Barcelona have got beating Real Sociadad 5-1, with Messi scoring twice. It was a good show, by some new names in the starting 11, Iniesta didn't play, Fabregas started the match on the field, Jordi Alba also had his first game with a great show from Tello.

These are the upcoming matches, with a very important clash the El Clasico on the 29th.

First transfer profit since 1999!!!!

This year one might see the first transfer profit Real Madrid has had since 1998-99 season. With only the deal for Luka Modric, Real believes that it does not need to splurge cash to become champions. there has been a net profit of approximately 14 million.
Luka Modric will be up for his medical test this Thursday. Although there is no place for him to play until there are no buyers for Kaka. Kaka doesn't really have a place in the starting 11 & has only got one deal in ex-club AC Milan, that to at a very low cut, so he will be happy to warm the bench this season unless he picks up his game. The squad appears complete with no loopholes in any specific area.
Modric who played a fabulous season for Tottenham will have a tough time making place for himself.

Week One to come!

Week one to start for the contention of Real Madrid's 33rd title starts this week. Real Madrid will be looking to open their game with a strong win to set things in motion. José Mourinho with his comments on his coaching skills has said that he is too special too be 'Special'. He might have proven this in his flair to win titles and also being the only person to win titles in 3 countries as a coach. He is yet to win a champions league title with the greatest club in the world, and command ultimate supremacy over all other clubs in Europe.
New signing Luka Modric will most probably not be playing in the first game against Valencia. He although does not fit in the present scheme of play Real Madrid follows, but it would be nice to see him play on Bernabéu soil. Coming after a playing some nice matches for Croatia in the Euro's, the fans will be looking forward for him to play.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be looking forward to clinch the title for maximum goals this season, loosing it bitter rival Messi last year. He also comes back from a superb show at the Euro's and will look to playing the new role of the leader very soon. After scoring last time in the El Clasico he has shown that yes he can rise to the occasion when it is required and perform very well when needed, he also score in the Copa Del Ray finals in the 2009 finals where Real Madrid beat Barcelona to get their first trophy in 4 years.Cristiano Ronaldo will be looking forward to clinch the title for maximum goals this season, loosing it bitter rival Messi last year.
